MINISTRIES OF ALL SAINTS CATHOLIC PARISH
CONTACT THE PARISH OFFICE FOR FURTHER INFORMATION OR TO REACH THE CONTACT PERSON.
Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist bring the Presence of Christ to the people whether they are at home, the hospital, and the nursing home or at Mass. The Eucharist has become more accessible since Vatican Council II and this is a great gift to the people. CONTACT: Jeff Hand
Ministry of Lectors The Lector proclaims the Word of God in a dignified and authoritative manner so that the Word comes alive for the congregation. CONTACT: Ellen Hand
Ushers The ushers are also part of the Hospitality Ministry. Their duties include seating parishioners where there is a need, taking up the collections, directing t he traffic flow for receiving of the Eucharist, passing out bulletins and seeing that the kneelers are up after Mass. They are also responsible to see that Missalettes are returned to the rack and the fans are turned off and windows closed. Both male and female ushers are welcome. CONTACT: Larry Firmani
Altar Servers Over 40 boys and girls assist at Mass as Altar Servers. This honor is offered to anyone who is in the 4th grade and older. Adults are also welcome to join this Ministry. CONTACT: Parish Office
Ministry of Music Music plays an integral part in our worship service. It gives the community a chance to participate in the service by singing praise to the Lord. Mr. Tim Cahalan and his wife, Susan, (parish organist) lead the music ministry. The choir sings at a Mass approximately three out of four weekends from September through June. Guitar and sometimes a flute or two accompanies the Folk Choir, an ensemble of five to nine members. This group sings five of every six Sundays, primarily at the 9:30 Liturgy. The Cantor cues and supports the singing of the assembly as well as sings solo passages. CONTACT: Tim Cahalan
Ministry of Hospitality This Ministry (Greeters) of Hospitality is an important one because these individuals can set the atmosphere for the service. The greeters are usually the first person one sees upon entering the church. These individuals promote an atmosphere of warmth and hospitality so the parishioners feel welcome and comfortable, especially if they are not use to the surroundings. This is a great way to show your love of God by your service of kindness to others. CONTACT: Susan Conrad
Gift Bearers Gift Bearers are usually family members who are having the Mass said for a deceased member of their family, but sometimes the family members are not able to carry the gifts. When this occurs a person or persons are contacted from the volunteer list to carry the gifts (bread, wine and collection.) CONTACT:Jinner Richason

After the session the family calls a Priest to set a time and date for infant Baptism which usually is celebrated during one of the Masses. CONTACT: Deacon Juan
Rite
of Christian Initiation of Adults
The R.C.I.A. is
a gradual process of prayer, worship, study, reflection sharing and growth
through which persons become members of the Roman Catholic Church. Rather than a
course or instruction, it is immolation in a way of life that fosters conversion
and the response of faith. This is a way for an individual to become a true
evangelist and wonderful witness to their belief in God as well as our Catholic
teaching.
Needed: Sponsors and
Catechists.

issues. Through a phone call or letter lawmakers are made aware of members’
views and convictions, thus letting the representatives know that Catholics are
good citizens and care about our brothers’ welfare. During the Indiana

Future Planning
The potential for ministry and service is enormous! Some areas of ministry that are needed at All Saints are:
Ministry of Mothers Sharing (MOMS) – Inspired by the loving and tender relationship of our Blessed Mother, Mary, and her cousin Elizabeth, MOMS is an 8-week spiritual journey that leads a group of women through the discovery of individual gifts, peer ministry, self-value, mutual guidance and prayer. Through the process of personal and spiritual growth, women have the opportunity to clarify their values, claim their own giftedness, and bring these new strengths to their family relationships and this parish community. It is designed for all mothers, wherever they are in their life’s journey.
Christ Renews His Parish – This program was at one time very active at St. Joseph Parish prior to the consolidation. It is a wonderful opportunity for spiritual renewal and awakening. It is active in many parishes in the diocese. Plans are in the works to revive CRHP in the Spring of 2003. CONTACT: Kay White, S.F.O. (722-4080)
Volunteers are always needed
Volunteers are needed in many areas of the Parish and School. Would you like to launder altar cloths, help clean the sanctuary or main body of the church? Did you ever wonder how the Missalettes get changed in the pews? If any of these jobs appeal to you, call the Parish Office and offer your services.
Perhaps you enjoy working with school children. Book Buddies are welcome at the Elementary School and tutors are needed in the Middle School. Perhaps you would like to trim soup labels or help with bulletin boards. Whatever your area of interest, contact either of the schools or the Parish Office to volunteer.
